Star India CEO Uday Shankar's story is interesting because he is one of the few people who made the switch from being a journalist to CEO of a media firm.

Star India is now all set to expand its presence in the Tamil market with the launch of a second general entertainment channel (GEC) to complement Vijay TV.

During the discussion, Uday Shankar, CEO STAR India, said: “The future of journalism is bright because we do something that is essential to the society. We should not be cynical about the media, without them the country would not have been what it is.”
