Arqiva supports Star HD UK launch

South Asian broadcaster Star has selected Arqiva is to support its launch of theUK’s first South Asian HD channel, Star Plus HD Channel.

The new channel will be uplinked onto satellite capacity on Arqiva’s dedicated HD platform on Eurobird 1. This will enable subscribers on BSkyB to enjoy Star Plus HD, the world’s most watched Hindi entertainment channel.

John Bozza, director of sales at Arqiva, said in a statement: “Arqiva already provides satellite distribution services for four of Star’s channels and we are delighted to be expanding our relationship by supporting their move into HD broadcasting. With our extensive expertise in launching TV channels and our dedicated HD platform we were able to facilitate the fast launch required by Star. We wish the channel every success.”
