Yes it's official , Kamal Haasan is the Host of the Tamil version of BIGG BOSS soon to be aired on Vijay TV .This is Kamalhaasan’s First Foray into Television and the excitement is palpable . His social commitment and his bold opinions on social injustice, especially his recent  tenacious critique on state politics makes him an inimitable choice.

 

The International  format is being introduced first time in the Tamil market and on Vijay TV , which has always had it good when it comes to Unique content offering in the Non fiction Space . The show would see the coming together of 15 Celebrities in a Posh House with all the amenities but who are completely Cut off from technology and the outside world for 100 Days .

 

When asked on choosing  BIGG BOSS as his first foray into Television ,Kamal Haasan said “ When Vijay TV approached me to play host , I funnily quipped , who better than me right, all my life have been under a constant watch and  have been judged on whatever I have done , public or private. But now Roles are reversed as I would stand with the audiences and watch these  celebrities in the house survive this ordeal.”

 

The Endemol owned  format BIG BROTHER which has had 10 Successful seasons in Hindi as BIG BOSS with  Salman playing host has also had  its regional success in Kannada and Bengali. Bigg Boss , the show attempts to provide a look into the behavior of celebrities under surveillance  . Apart from enduring the Weekly Tasks  the inmates  have the arduous task of nominating their colleagues for elimination .Last man standing wins , in a format which is an emotional roller coaster ride for inmates and audiences .

Star Plus - Marketing and content strategy Head, Nikhil Madhok said, “Comedy was on our mind since a long time. But we didn’t want to come up with anything just for the sake of it. We waited to come up with something that we believe in." Madhok who also wanted to make Sundays entertaining for the viewers, added, “The show was conceptualised after we decided to extend our weekend programming till Saturday. While our fiction shows are more women-oriented, we wanted to make Sundays family oriented.
