Channel [v] brings brand new season of ‘Gumrah’

  Riding high on the success of its popular teen crime show, Channel [v] is all set to bring back a fresh new season of ‘Gumrah’ on July 9, 2012. Gumrah – Season 2 will now air daily (Monday – Friday) at 8 PM,and each episode will illustrate new spine-chilling crime stories. The show is co-produced by ALT Entertainment and Lost Boy Productions and will continue to be hosted by Karan Kundra.

Gumrah – End of Innocence was widely appreciated for its disruptive format and unique viewpoint of understanding the psyche of young criminals. The show stood out amongst a horde of other crime shows with its non-preachy approach and youth appeal. With the introduction of Season 2, Channel [v] takes the plunge again into the mysterious world of crime to explore the different moods and emotions that drive these young minds.

Prem Kamath, Executive VP & GM,Channel [v], said, “Gumrah deals with the issue of teen crime which is very intricately connected to society today. The show’s wide acceptance amongst viewers has proved the importance and relevance of this issue. With the accelerating occurrences of crime in our society by youth, it makes us even more responsible to tackle the problem perceptively. Through Gumrah, we aim to educate the people on numerous psychological reasons that instigate youngsters towards taking the path of crime. The idea is to educate both teenagers and their parents in understanding and handling these complex issues.”

Star India enters into partnership with International Hockey Federation

Nitin Kukreja, head of sports business, says, “This time we will be airing 24 matches in the prime time band at 8 pm. This is a learning from the previous season. Also, we had added some new features in the live telecast that should make for better and more interesting viewing.”

Star bags rights for hockey league

Star India has bagged the broadcasts rights from International Hockey Federation (FIH) in an eight-year deal.
