20 January 2016

Star World Premiere HD, home to day and date viewing, is known to bring some of the best and latest English television series to its discerned audience. In a bid to offer unique and exceptional content, the HD only channel is all set to premiere the eccentric thirteen part television series ‘Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life’ that follows the day to day happenings of Cooper Barrett and his friends and family while exploring what we all go through on our way to figuring out what life is all about.

Written by Jay Lacopo, Cooper Barrett’s Guide celebrates the mistakes and misadventures of post-college life and follows a unique narrative structure where each episode starts at the climax of the story and circles back to the beginning. The show centers on 26-year-old Cooper Barrett (Cutmore-Scott), who, during a particularly disastrous experience, decides it’s time somebody let the under-20 crowd know about the unexpected challenges of life after college. Every episode is born from a problem or issue that we can all sympathize with and each episode is a guide on ‘How to survive….’. The pilot episode ‘How to Survive Your Lovable Jackass’ is about that friend who just causes trouble, and you can’t always take him nice places because he’s going to steal something. Other episodes deal with issues like ‘How to Survive Insufficient Funds’, ‘How to survive being a plus one’ and ‘How to Survive Losing a phone’. But from these kernels, things start to escalate out of control. Through a magical combination of bad luck and poor decisions, Cooper and his friends find themselves going from relatable situations to these insane comical spots. The series also offers ruthless stunts and big-set pieces and one of the episodes starts with Jack in the middle of the Pacific Ocean!
This is Jack Cutmore-Scott’s first time working on a green-lit television show. The 28-year-old is Harvard alum, who has spent fair share of his time waiting tables, recently found fame with in Kingsman: The Secret Service as Rufus Saville. Now the headliner of a hot new TV show, Cutmore-Scott reveals his tips to surviving life as a modern twentysomething in Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life this Sunday, January 24th at 9:00 PM only on Star World Premiere HD!

Is the Media in trouble? Mumbai Press Club holds discussion on subject

Uday Shankar, Star India CEO said, “Just because the media has become capital-intensive, doesn’t mean that it has to compromise on your integrity. Every business has to have a value system, and the editor needs to be sensitive to that. Journalists need to wake up to the economic reality, and it can’t be denied. On the other hand, those who recognise that are willing to swing to the other extreme and do anything. That also is neither healthy nor sustainable.”

Channel V plans more events
