GEC Watch: As ratings dark period begins, Star dominates weekdays, Zee TV on a high

Sony’s new weekday show ‘Dil Ki Baatein’ opens at 1.5 TVM in Week 13 of TAM 2015.

Week 13 of TAM 2015 saw Zee TV grabbing top slot in both weekday and weekend programming. While ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ continued to top the weekday chart, its latest weekend offering, ‘DID Super Moms’, witnessed best ever launch for non-fiction shows in last two years. The show opened at 9.4 TVM.

According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 13 of TAM 2015 (March 22 – March 28), Star Plus continued to dominate weekday programming with five shows in the top 10 list. Colors and Zee TV had two shows each while SAB TV’s ‘Taarak Mehta’ returned to the top 10 list.
Weekday toppers (all data in TVM, 000000’s)
Kumkum Bhagya on Zee TV retained the top slot with an average viewership of 9.5 TVM (last week 10.2 TVM).
Sathiya Saath Nibhana on Star Plus held on to the No. 2 position this week. The show recorded an average viewership of 9.1 TVM (last week 9.8 TVM).
Star Plus’ Diya Aur Baati Hum jumped two positions to No. 3 this week. The show recorded an average viewership of 8.5 TVM this week (last week 8.3 TVM).
Ye Hai Mohabbatein on Star Plus slipped one position to No. 4 with an average viewership of 8.1 TVM this week (last week 9 TVM).
Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai rose one position to No. 5. The show recorded an average viewership of 7.9 TVM (last week 7.9 TVM).
Sasural Simar Ka on Colors slipped two positions to No. 6. The show recorded an average viewership of 7.5 TVM (last week 8.4 TVM).
SAB TV’s Taarak Mehta returned to the top 10 club at No. 7. The show recorded an average viewership of 6.3 TVM (last week 5.7 TVM).
Zee TV’s Jamai Raja slipped one position to No. 8 this week with an average viewership of 6.2 TVM (last week 6.7 TVM).
Star Plus’ Tu Mera Hero also slipped one position to No. 9. The show had an average viewership of 6.1 TVM (last week 6.5 TVM).
Udaan on Colors was at No. 10 with an average viewership of 5.7 TVM (last week 6.4 TVM).
Weekend toppers
Zee TV’s dance reality show DID Super Moms recorded the best ever opening at 9.4 TVM for any non-fiction show in last two years.
Comedy Nights with Kapil on Colors dropped to 5.2 TVM (last week 7.1 TVM).
Colors’ flagship weekend show, ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi – Darr Ka Blockbuster Returns’, garnered 4.5 TVM (last week 4.6 TVM).
Zee TV’s Neeli Chhatri Wale recorded 3.7 TVM (last week 3.7 TVM).
Sony’s crime series, CID, fetched an average viewership of 3.5 TVM (last week 3.3 TVM).
Sony’s other crime series, Crime Patrol, had an average viewership of 2.9 TVM (last week 2.3 TVM).
Colors’ celebrity cookery show, Farah ki Dawat, recorded an average viewership of 2.4 TVM (last week 2.2 TVM).
