GEC Watch: Colors adds most viewership; Zee TV retains top 2 weekday slots

Pecking order of Hindi GECs remains unchanged in Week 36 of TAM 2014.

Adding maximum viewership in Week 37 of TAM 2014, Colors crossed the 400-mn mark and strengthened its position at No. 3. Star Plus and SAB TV also registered marginal growth this week while Zee TV, Life OK and Sony lost eyeballs. However, there was no change in pecking order.
According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 37 of TAM 2014 (September 7 – September 13) for CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus continued to lead the pack followed by Zee TV at No. 2 and Colors at No. 3. Life OK, SAB TV and Sony were at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.
Star Plus recorded a gross viewership of 595 GTVM and a relative share of 25.74% (last week 591 GTVM and 25.22% of relative share).
Zee TV witnessed further decline in viewership this week and recorded a gross viewership of 432 GTVM with 18.69% relative share (last week 452 GTVM and 19.29% relative share).
Colors grew by another 18 TVM in Week 37 and crossed the 400-mark. The channel had a gross viewership of 417 GTVM with a relative share of 18.04% (last week 399 GTVM and 17.03% of relative share).
 With a marginal drop in viewership, Life OK recorded 313 GTVM and a relative share of 13.54% (last week 326 GTVM and 13.70% of relative share).
SAB TV retained No. 5 position with a gross viewership of 292 GTVM. The channel had a relative share of 12.63% (last week 288 TVM and 12.29% of relative share).
Sony lost maximum eyeballs this week and recorded a gross viewership of 263 GTVM with a relative share of 11.38% (last week 287 GTVM and 12.25% of relative share).
Top Shows:
Zee TV continued to hold the top 2 slots in weekday programming with ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ topping the chart for the second consecutive week. Zee TV and Star Plus held 4 slots each, leaving one each for Colors and SAB TV, in the top 10 weekday shows list.
KBC on Sony recorded an average viewership of 3.6 TVM in Week 37 against last week’s 3.9 TVM. Life OK’s ‘Dare to Dance’ settled at 2.9 TVM in its second week after opening at 4.5 TVM.
Colors ruled the weekend with ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ at the top of the chart.

Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya retained the top position in the second week in a row. The show recorded an average viewership of 8.4 TVM this week (last week 8.6 TVM).
Jodha Akbar on Zee TV held No. 2 position with an average viewership of 7.9 TVM (last week 8.1 TVM).
Star Plus’ Saathiya held No. 3 position with an average viewership of 7.7 TVM (last week 8).
Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus added more eyeballs this week and held No. 4 position. The show fetched an average viewership of 7.7 TVM (last week 7 TVM).
Taarak MehtaKa Ooltah Chashma on SAB TV jumped 4 positions to No. 5 this week. The show grew to 7.3 TVM (last week 6.1 TVM).
Jamai Raja on Zee TV slipped one position to No. 6 with an average viewership of 6.7 TVM (last week 6.4 TVM).
Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai held No. 7 position this week. The show recorded an average viewership of 6.6 TVM (last week 6.2 TVM).
Colors’ Sasural Simar Ka slipped two positions to No. 8 with an average viewership of 6.2 TVM (last week 6.3 TVM).
Qubool Hai on Zee TV slipped one position to No. 9 with an average viewership of 5.8 TVM (last week 6.1).
Pyaar Ka Dard Hai on Star Plus made it to top-10 list with an average viewership of 5.5 TVM (last week 4.7 TVM).
Weekend toppers
Comedy Night with Kapil on Colors continued to lead weekend programming. The show fetched an average viewership of 6 TVM (last week 6.3).
Colors’ celebrity dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa fetched an average viewership of 4.1 TVM (last week 4.4).
Sony’s crime series, CID, fetched 3.2 TVM against last week’s 3.2 TVM.
Star Plus’ new weekend singing reality show, India’s Raw Star,dropped to 3.1 TVM in its third week (last week 4.3 TVM).
Life OK’s Dare to Dance settled at 2.9 TVM in the second week after launching at 4.5 TVM.
Zee TV’s Neeli Chhatri Wale was unmoved at 2.9 TVM (last week 2.9 TVM).
Shapath on Life OK fetched 2.2 TVM (last week 2.4).
Airlines on Star Plus dropped to 2 TVM in this third week (last week 3.5).
Colors’ The Anupam Kher Show fetched 1.8 TVM (last week 1.7 TVM).
Sony’s crime show, Crime Patrol, garnered 1.8 TVM (last week 1.3 TVM).
India’s Best Cine Star Ki Khoj on Zee TV was at 1.5 TVM (last week 1.6 TVM).
