GEC Watch: Colors’ weekday show ‘Swaragini’ opens at 5.3 TVM

Star Plus dominates weekday programming with five shows in top 10. &TV shows help channel get best-ever debut ratings

Week 10 of TAM 2015 saw the new Hindi general entertainment channel &TV debuting with the best-ever opening viewership of 91 TVM. The week also witnessed the launch of new weekday show ‘Swaragini’ on Colors that sustained its slot ratings and averaged at 5.3 TVM.
According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 10 of TAM 2015 (March 1 – March 7), &TV’s weekday shows performed well. Razia Sultan opened at 0.6 TVM, Bhagya Lakshmi garnered 0.6 TVM, Gangaa fetched 1.3 TVM, Begusarai averaged at 0.7 TVM, Bhabhi Ji Ghar Pe Hai got 0.8 TVM, Killer Karaoke fetched 1.0 TVM, and Tujhse Naaraz Nahi Zindagi garnered 0.4 TVM. &TV’s big ticket weekend show ‘India Poochega Sabse Sana Kaun’ opened at 0.9 TVM.
Besides the shows, the channel garnered 20 TVMs from airing of 5 movies.
Star Plus continued to rule weekday programming with five shows in the top 10 followed by Zee TV and Colors with two shows each. SAB TV’s Tarak Mehta was also in the top 10.
Colors dominated the weekend with ‘Comedy Night with Kapil’ at the top followed by ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ at No. 2.
Weekday toppers (all data in TVM, 000000’s)
Star Plus’ Diya Aur Baati Hum topped the weekday chart with an average viewership of 9.4 TVM this week (last week 10 TVM).
Kumkum Bhagya on Zee TV garnered an average viewership of 9.4 TVM (last week 9 TVM).
Ye Hai Mohabbatein on Star Plus was at No. 3 this week with an average viewership of 8.8 TVM this week (last week 8.4 TVM).
Sathiya Saath Nibhana on Star Plus slipped three positions to No. 4 this week. The show recorded an average viewership of 8.7 TVM (last week 11.2 TVM).
Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai held No. 5 position with an average viewership of 8 TVM (last week 7.9 TVM).
Sasural Simar Ka on Colors was also unmoved at No. 6 position. The show garnered an average viewership of 7.6 TVM (last week 8.2 TVM).
Star Plus’ Tu Mera Hero was at No. 7 position with an average viewership of 6.9 TVM (last week 6.9 TVM).
Tarak Mehta on SAB TV was stable at No. 8 with 6.6 TVM (last week 6.6 TVM).
Udaan on Colors recorded an average viewership of 6.2 TVM (last week 6.4 TVM).
Zee TV’s Jamai Raja was at No. 10 with an average viewership of 6.1 TVM (last week 6 TVM).
Weekend toppers
Comedy Nights with Kapil on Colors was the weekend chart topper this week with 5.8 TVM (last week 4.1 TVM).
Colors’ flagship weekend show, ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi – Darr Ka Blockbuster Returns’, was No. 2 with 5.1 TVM (last week 5.3 TVM).
Zee TV’s flagship singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champsgarnered 4.6 TVM (last week 4.7 TVM).
Zee TV’s Neeli Chhatri Wale recorded 4.5 TVM (last week 4.1 TVM).
Sony’s crime series, CID, fetched an average viewership of 3.8 TVM (last week 4 TVM).
Sony’s other crime series, Crime Patrol, had an average viewership of 2.6 TVM (last week 2.8 TVM).
