GEC Watch: Impressive opening for Colors’ Ashoka and KKK

‘Khatron Ke Khiladi – Darr Ka Blockbuster Returns’ opened with a staggering 8.6 TVM while ‘Ashoka’ averaged 5.4 TVM in its opening week.

Week 6 of TAM 2015 saw two big ticket show launches on Colors and both opened well on people meters. New weekend show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi – Darr Ka Blockbuster Returns’ opened with a staggering 8.6 TVM while the magnum opus ‘Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat’ averaged 5.4 TVM in its opening week.
According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 6 of TAM 2015 (February 1 – February 7) for CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus strengthened its leadership in weekday programming with 5 shows in the top 10 followed by Colors and Zee TV with two shows each. SAB TV had one show in the top 10 club.
Among weekend shows, ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ on Colors topped the chart in its opening week, and was followed by longtime weekend leader ‘Comedy Night with Kapil’, also from Colors.

Star Plus’ Diya Aur Baati Hum stayed at the top of the weekday chart with an average viewership of 10.9 TVM this week (last week 10.7 TVM).
Ye Hai Mohabbatein on Star Plus climbed one position to No. 2 this week. The show fetched an average viewership of 9.1 TVM this week (last week 8.6 TVM).
Sathiya Saath Nibhana on Star Plus slipped to No. 3 position with an average viewership of 9 TVM (last week 8.6 TVM).
Kumkum Bhagya on Zee TV was at No. 4 with an average viewership of 8.9 TVM (last week 8.4 TVM).
Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai held No. 5 position with an average viewership of 8.6 TVM (last week 8.1 TVM).
Sasural Simar Ka on Colors held No. 6 position. The show garnered an average viewership of 7.7 TVM (last week 7.3 TVM).
Zee TV’s Jamai Raja was at No. 7 with an average viewership of 7.3 TVM (last week 6.9 TVM).
Tarak Mehta on SAB TV was unmoved at No. 8 position with an average viewership of 7.3 TVM (last week 6.8 TVM).
Udaan on Colors was No. 9 with an average viewership of 7.1 TVM against last week’s 6.7 TVM.
Star Plus’ Tu Mera Hero entered the top-10 club with an average viewership of 7.1 TVM (last week 6.3 TVM).
Weekend toppers
Colors’ flagship weekend show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi – Darr Ka Blockbuster Returns’ was the weekend chart topper in its opening week with 8.6 TVM.
Comedy Nights with Kapil on Colors fetched 5.9 TVM (last week 4.9 TVM).
Zee TV’s Neeli Chhatri Wale stayed at 4.4 TVM (last week 4.4 TVM).
Sony’s crime series, CID, fetched an average viewership of 4.2 TVM (last week 4 TVM).
Zee TV’s flagship singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champsgrew to 4.1 TVM (last week 3.6 TVM).
Bhanwar on Sony recorded 2 TVM this week (last week 2 TVM).
Sony’s other crime series, Crime Patrol, had an average viewership of 1.6 TVM (last week 1.4 TVM).
