GEC Watch: Quiet opening for new shows on Colors and Life OK

‘Shastri Sisters’ on Colors opens at 1.9 TVM while ‘Laut Aao Trisha’ on Life OK opens at 2.2 TVM. ‘Yudh’ on Sony drops to 0.8 TVM in its second week.

Week 30 of TAM 2014 saw two new weekday shows launch on Colors and Life OK. ‘Shastri Sisters ‘on Colors opened at 2.6 TVM and averaged at 1.9 TVM. ‘Laut Aao Trisha’ on Life OK opened at 2.5 TVM and averaged at 2.2 TVM.

Sony’s latest mega fiction show featuring Amitabh Bachchan, ‘Yudh’, dropped to 0.8 TVM in its second week. The show had opened at an average rating of 1.4 TVM last week.

Colors’ latest weekend offering, ‘The Anupam Kher Show’, was steady with 2.3 TVM in its third week.

According to TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 30 of TAM 2014 (July 20 – July 26) CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus led fiction programming in weekdays with six slots in the top 10. Zee TV and SAB held three and one slot, respectively.

Colors’ ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ remained at the top of weekend chart followed by ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Ja’.

Weekday toppers (all data in TVM, 000000’s)

Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus continued to lead the weekday programming with an average viewership of 10.4 TVM (last week 10.5 TVM).

Star Plus’ epic series,Mahabharat,held its No. 2 position in the second consecutive week. The show garnered 9.3 TVM this week (last week 9.4 TVM). 

Jodha Akbaron Zee TV too held its No. 3 position with an average viewership of 8.6 TVM (last week 9.3 TVM). 

Star Plus’Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Haiwas at No. 4 despite a drop in viewership this week. The show recorded an average viewership of 8 TVM (last week 8.3 TVM). 

Star Plus’Saathiyatwo witnessed drop in its viewership but the show retained the No. 5 position. It fetched an average viewership of 7.4 TVM (last week 8). 

Kumkum Bhagyaon Zee TV grew further and strengthened its position at No. 6. The show garnered an average viewership of 7.4 TVM this week (last week 6.6 TVM). 

Yeh Hai Mohabbateinon Star Plus jumped one position to No. 7. The show recorded an average viewership of 6.7 TVM (last week 6.4 TVM). 

SAB’s Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma slipped one position to No. 8 with an average viewership of 6.6 TVM (last week 7.2 TVM). 

Qubool Haion Zee TV climbed one position to No. 9 with an average viewership of 6.3 TVM (last week 5.7). 

Veeraon Star Plus too added more viewers this week but slipped one position to No. 10. The show recorded an average viewership of 6 TVM (last week 5.8 TVM). 

Weekend toppers

Comedy Night with Kapilon Colors strengthened its leadership in weekend programming. The show fetched an average viewership of 7.2 TVM (last week 6.8). 

Colors’ celebrity dance reality showJhalak Dikhhla Jaadropped to 4.8 TVM (last week 5.6). 

Sony’s crime series,CID, fetched 4.2 TVM against last week’s 3.7 TVM. 

India’s Best Cine Star Ki Khojon Zee TV grew to 2.7 TVM (last week 2.3). 

Colors’ latest weekend offering,‘The Anupam Kher Show’,fetched 2.3 TVM in its third week  (last week 2.4 TVM). 

Sony’sEntertainment Ke Liye Kuchh Bhi Karegafetched an average viewership of 2.2 TVM (last week 2.2). 

Shapathon Life OK fetched 2.1 TVM (last week 2.4). 

Sony’s second crime show,Crime Patrol,garnered 1.8 TVM (last week 1.8). 

Hatimon Life OK dropped to 1.7 TVM against last week’s 2.2 TVM.
