GEC Watch: SAB TV overtakes Life OK at No. 4; no change in top 3

Sony gains maximum viewership among all Hindi general entertainment channels. Life OK loses most in Week 43 of TAM 2014.

In Week 43 of TAM 2014 which saw most channels losing viewership, Sony witnessed maximum gain. Last week’s maximum gainer Life OK lost the maximum viewership this week. As a result, SAB TV, despite losing substantial viewership, overtook Life OK to take the No. 4 slot.
According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 43 of TAM 2014 (October 19 – October 25) for CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus maintained its leadership position followed by Colors at No. 2 and Zee TV at No. 3. SAB TV, Life OK and Sony were at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.
Star Plus recorded a gross viewership of 595 GTVM with a relative share of 25.59% (last week 601 GTVM and 26.05% of relative share).
Colors came in with a gross viewership of 432 GTVM with a relative share of 18.58% (last week 436 GTVM and 18.90% of relative share).
At No. 3, Zee TV recorded a gross viewership of 394 GTVM with 16.95% relative share (last week 418 GTVM and 18.12% relative share).
SAB TV recorded gross viewership of 287 GTVM with 12.34% relative share. (Last week 302 GTVM and 13.09% of relative share).
Life OK was at No. 5 with a gross viewership of 257 GTVM. The channel had a relative share of 11.05% (last week 276 TVM and 11.96% of relative share).
Sony recorded viewership of 248 GTVM with a relative share of 10.67% (last week 228 GTVM and 9.88% of relative share).
Big Magic recorded viewership of 59 GTVM with a relative share of 2.54% (last week 55 GTVM and relative share of 2.33%).
Zindagi too witnessed a growth in viewership and recorded 27 GTVM with a relative share of 1.16% (last week 21 GTVM and 0.91% of relative share).
Sony Pal fetched 26 GTVM with a relative share of 1.12% (last week 25 GTVM and 1.08% of relative share).
