GEC Watch: Star Plus and Colors add more eyeballs in Week 49

Zee TV, Life OK, Sony and SAB TV witness decline in their viewership. There is no change in pecking order.

Star Plus and Colors were the only two Hindi general entertainment channels to add more eyeballs in Week 49 of TAM 2014. Zee TV, Life OK, Sony and SAB TV witness decline while Zindagi and Sony PAL retained their viewership. There was no change in pecking order.
Epic recorded a gross viewership of 3.69 TVM in its second week. The channel had recorded 2.93 GTVM in the first full week.
According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 49 of TAM 2014 (November 30 – December 6) for CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus retained its leadership position followed by Colors at No. 2. Zee TV, Life OK, SAB TV and Sony were at No. 3, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.
Star Plus recorded gross viewership of 642 GTVM with a relative share of 25.35% (last week 625 GTVM).
Colors recorded gross viewership of 476 GTVM with a relative share of 18.94% (last week 467 GTVM).
At No. 3, Zee TV recorded gross viewership of 419 GTVM with 17.64% relative share (last week 435 GTVM).
Life OK witnessed the fall in viewership this week and recorded gross viewership of 296 GTVM. The channel had a relative share of 13.14% (last week 324 TVM).
SAB TV also witnessed fall in the viewership andrecorded gross viewership of 281 GTVM with 12.12% relative share (last week 299 GTVM).
Sony recorded viewership of 226 GTVM with a relative share of 9.33% (last week 230 GTVM).
Big Magic recorded viewership of 61 GTVM with a relative share of 2.51% (last week 62 GTVM)
Sony Pal recorded viewership of 33 GTVM with a relative share of 1.33% (last week 33 GTVM).
Zindagi recorded viewership at 31 GTVM with a relative share of 1.25% (last week 31 GTVM).
