GEC Watch: Star Plus and SAB grow in Week 21

Sony holds its viewership while Life OK, Colors and Zee TV witness drop as IPL continues to affect Hindi GECs

Star Plus and SAB TV witnessed growth in Week 21 of TAM 2014 even as IPL continued to affect the viewership of Hindi GECs. While Sony’s viewership was stable against last week, Life OK lost maximum eyeballs this week. Zee TV and Colors dropped marginally by 7 TVMs each.

According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 21 of TAM 2014 (May 18 – May 24) for CS 4+, HSM markets, as Star Plus remained the distant leader with an increased leadership margin of over 300 TVMs. Zee TV and Colors witnessed marginal drop in their viewership and retained No. 2 and No. 3 positions respectively. Life OK held its No. 4 position despite losing maximum viewership this week. Sony’s viewership was unmoved while SAB TV added more eyeballs this week.

Star Plusrecovered this week and added maximum eyeballs. The channel garnered 699 GTVMs with relative share of 29.63% (last week 681 TVM with 28.77% relative share).

Zee TVlost a few eyeballs and recorded 387 GTVM with a relative share of 16.41% (last week 394 TVM and 16.65% relative share).

Colorstoo witnessed a slight decline. The channel fetched a gross viewership of 360 GTVMs with a relative share of 15.26% (last week 367 TVM with 15.50% relative share).

Life OKlost maximum eyeballs this week but the channel retained its fourth position with a gross viewership of 333 TVM and a relative share of 14.12% (last week 354 TVM and 14.96%).

Sonywas stable at 313 TVM with a relative share of 13.27% (last week 313 TVM and 13.22% relative share).

SAB TVgrew to 267 TVM this week and recorded a relative share of 11.32% (last week 258 TVM TVM and 10.90% relative share).
