GEC Watch: Star Plus holds 7 slots in top 10 weekday shows

Zee TV grows to two shows while SAB continues to hold one slot in top 10. Khatron Ke Khiladi finale delivers 5.9 TVM to Colors in Week 22 of TAM 2014

Hindi general entertainment channels witnessed a churn in their viewership in the IPL finale week. Most of the top performing primetime shows across channels dropped further in Week 22 of TAM 2014.

According to TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 22 of TAM 2014 (May 25 – May 31) CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus continued to lead with 7 shows in the top 10 weekday shows despite the drop in viewership across channels. Zee TV grew to two shows while SAB TV retained one slot in the top 10.

Colors continued dominate weekend programming. ‘Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi’ topped the weekend chart this week with its finale episode delivering 5.9 TVM. ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ was the second most watched show during the weekend.

Weekday toppers (all data in TVM, 000000’s)

Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus continued to be at the top with an average viewership of 8.7 TVM (last week 10 TVM).

Jodha Akbaron Zee TV jumped one position to No. 2 this week. The show garnered 8 TVM (last week 7.9 TVM).

Star Plus’Saathiyadropped to 6.9 TVM and No. 3 position (last week 8.6).

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Haiheld its position at No. 4. The show garnered an average viewership of 6.3 TVM (last week 6.4 TVM).

Yeh Hai Mohabbateinon Star Plus slipped one position to No. 5 this week. The show recorded an average viewership of 6.1 TVM (last week 6.8 TVM).

Star Plus’ epic series,Mahabharat,was at No. 6 with an average viewership of 5.5 TVM this week (last week 6.4 TVM).

Veeraon Star Plus witnessed decline in its viewership but held the No. 7 position. The show had an average viewership of 5.5 TVM (last week 6.1 TVM).

SAB’s Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma climbed one position to No. 8 this week with an average viewership of 5.4 TVM (last week 5.6 TVM).

Pyaar Ka Dard Haion Star Plus slipped one position to No. 9. The show dropped to 5.2 TVM (last week 6.0).

Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Seon Zee TV returned to the top-10 club with an average viewership of 4.8 TVM this week (last week 4.3 TVM).

Weekend toppers

Riding on the grand finale on Sunday, May 25, Colors’ flagship show,Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi,topped the weekend chart. The finale episode delivered 5.9 TVM (last week 5.5).

Comedy Night with Kapilon Colors was the second most watched show during the weekend. The show fetched an average viewership of 5.2 TVM in Week 22 (last week 5.6).

Sony’s crime series,CID, fetched 3.1 TVM against last week’s 3.2 TVM.

Dance India Dance L’il Masters Season 3 on Zee TV dropped to 2.8 TVM (last week 3.4 TVM).

Life OK’sShapathgrew to 2.8 TVM (last week 2.3).

Colors’Mission Sapnegrew to 2.4 TVM from 2.0 TVM in last week.

Fear Fileson Zee TV grew to 2.1 TVM this week (last week 1.7).

Sony’sEntertainment Ke Liye Kuchh Bhi Karegafetched an average viewership of 2.1 TVM (last week 2.1).

HatimonLife OK recorded 2.1 TVM (last week 2.1).

Sony’s second crime show,Crime Patrol,garnered 1.9 TVM (last week 1.9).

EncounteronSony fetched an average viewership of 1.1 TVM (last week 1.2).
