GEC Watch: Star Plus, Sony stable as others lose viewership

Colors Stardust Awards clocks 8.3 TVM. Zee TV’s dominance grows to three shows in weekday top 10 in Week 3 of TAM 2015.

Star Plus, Sony, Sony PAL and Epic held ground in the third week of TAM 2015 as other GECs lost viewership. In the first week without ‘Comedy Night with Kapil’, Colors witnessed drop in viewership despite a huge contribution from Colors Stardust Awards that clocked 8.3 TVM.
There were a couple of changes in the pecking order also. SAB TV overtook Life OK to become No. 4 Hindi GEC and Sony PAL surpassed Zindagi.
According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 3 of TAM 2015 (January 11 – January 17) for CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus retained the top slot followed by Colors at No. 2 and Zee TV at No. 3.SAB TV, Life OK and Sony were at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.
Star Plus’ gross viewership was stable at 613 GTVM with a relative share of 24.50% (last week 613 GTVM and 23.70% relative share).
Colors dropped to 485 GTVM with a relative share of 19.38% (last week 510 GTVM and 19.72% relative share).
Zee TV recorded a gross viewership of 417 GTVM with a relative share of 16.67% (last week 433 GTVM and 16.74% relative share).
SAB TV jumped to No. 4 this week despite drop in its viewership. The channel recorded 318 GTVM with 12.71% relative share (last week 328 GTVM and 12.68% relative share).
Life OK slipped to No. 5 with 316 GTVM with a relative share of 12.63% (last week 339 TVM and 13.11% relative share).
Sony’s gross viewership was unmoved at 235 GTVM with a relative share of 9.39% (last week 235 GTVM and 9.09% relative share).
Big Magic witnessed a drop in viewership and recorded 57 GTVM and a relative share of 2.28% (last week 62 GTVM and 2.40% relative share).
Sony Pal overtook Zindagi this week with a marginal gain in its gross viewership. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 29 GTVM with a relative share of 1.16% (last week 28 GTVM and 1.08% relative share).
Zindagi recorded viewership at 24 GTVM with a relative share of 0.96% (last week 30 GTVM and 1.16% relative share).
Epic recorded a gross viewership of 8.3 GTVM against last week’s 7.6 GTVM.
