GEC Watch: Star Plus weekday shows see sharp spike

Star Plus had five shows in among the top 10 in Week 44. Zee TV’s Maharakshak Aryan opens at 3.2 TVM.

Weekday shows across Hindi general entertainment channels bounced back in Week 44 of TAM 2014 after a dip during the Diwali festivities week. According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 44 of TAM 2014 (October 26 – November 1) for CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus dominated weekday programming with 5 shows in top 10 list. Zee TV had three shows followed by Colors and SAB TV with one show each.
‘Bigg Boss Season 8’ on Colors garnered an average viewership of 4.4 TVM against last week’s average of 4.1 TVM.
‘Comedy Night with Kapil’ continued to rule the weekend programming with an average viewership of 5.9 TVM. ‘Maharakshak Aryan’ on Zee TV opened at 3.2 TVM.

Star Plus’ Diya Aur Baati Hum crossed the 10 TVM mark this week and recorded an average viewership of 10.8 TVM this week (last week 8.8 TVM).
Star Plus’ Sathiya Saath Nibhana held No. 2 position with an average viewership of 9.3 TVM (last week 6.9 TVM).
Ye Hai Mohabbatein on Star Plus jumped one position to No. 3. The show recorded 8.9 TVM this week (last week 6.7 TVM).
Zee TV’s Jodha Akbar slipped one position to No. 4 fetching an average viewership of 8.2 TVM (last week 6.7 TVM).
Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai held No. 5 position this week. The show recorded an average viewership of 7.4
TVM (last week 6.5 TVM).
Kumkum Bhagya on Zee TV was also unmoved at No. 6 position with an average viewership of 7.1 TVM (last week 6.3 TVM).
Jamai Raja on Zee TV grew to No. 7 this week. The show garnered an average viewership of 6.7 TVM (last week 5.5 TVM).
Colors’ Sasural Simar Ka slipped one position to No. 8 with an average viewership of 6.4 TVM (last week 5.7 TVM).
Tarak Mehta on SAB TV jumped one position to No. 9 this week. The show recorded an average viewership of 6.3 TVM (last week 5 TVM).
Ek Hasina Thi on Star Plus was at No. 10 position with an average viewership of 6.1 TVM against last week’s 5.1 TVM.
Weekend toppers
Comedy Nights with Kapil on Colors retained the top position among weekend shows. The show fetched an average viewership of 5.9 TVM (last week 6.4 TVM).
Sony’s crime series, CID, fetched 3.2 TVM against last week’s 3.1 TVM.
Maharakshak Aryan on Zee TV opened at 3.2 TVM.
Zee TV’s Neeli Chhatri Wale recorded a viewership of 3 TVM (last week 2.9 TVM).
Dil Se Naache Indiwaale on Zee TV fetched 2.4 TVM from last week’s 2 TVM.
India’s Raw Star on Star Plus also fetched 2.4 TVM this week.
Satyamev Jayate on Star Plus rated 2.4 TVM.
Life OK’s Dare to Dance grew to 1.9 TVM (last week 1.6 TVM).
Star Plus’ Airlines fetched 1.9 TVM.
Comedy Classes on Life OK fetched 1.8 TVM (last week 1.5).
Sony’s other crime series, Crime Patrol, dropped to 1.5 TVM (last week 1.6 TVM).
