ICC CT 17 match between India vs Pakistan attracts 201 million viewers; becomes the highest rated ODI match in BARC history

Every 3rd individual tuned in for the first half of the marquee tournament

This year’s most anticipated clash between India and Pakistan in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy – the flagship cricket tournament of 2017, broke many records. The match between the two nations attracted 201 mn* viewers, becoming the highest rated ODI match in BARC history. Also, an impressive 294 mn* viewers tuned in for the first half of the tournament. 

India’s CT17 title defence against Pakistan which kick-started with the high impact and widely revered #SabseBadaMoh campaign, truly delivered what it promised. The highly anticipated match between two nations is rated 2x more than the last edition of ICC Champions Trophy 2013.

A Star India spokesperson said, “ICC Champions Trophy 2017 has been an impressive event in terms of scale, reach and following; and the India-Pakistan match set a new viewership record on our network making it the highest rated ODI match in BARC history. In a double treat for fans, India and Pakistan will once again clash in the high-octane finals to bag the coveted title. Action starts on the Star Sports network on Sunday, June 18, 2017, 1:30 PM IST onwards.
