Rise of Star Plus & Colors; close shave for Zee TV

Zee TV has survived at No.3 position with just 3 GRPs in the week 29 of TAM 2011.

Week 29 of TAM 2011 has put Zee TV at the edge where the channel has a very close shave and survived at No.3 position with just 3 GRPs. Besides, Imagine TV has lost huge 39 GRPs after enjoying over 100 GRPs for last two consecutive weeks. Colors has emerged as the biggest gainer followed by Star Plus while Sony Entertainment Television and SAB TV have maintained status quo over the last week viewership.

Colors two programs – Balika Vadhu and Uttaran have topped chart with 5.0 and 4.6 TVRs respectively followed by Zee TV’s Pavitra Rishta (4.6) and Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata hai (4.5) and Saathiya (4.1).

India’s No.1 Hindi general entertainment channel Star Plushas recorded growth in the 29th week of TAM 2011. The channel is consistent over 300 mark from last 3 weeks. Star Plus has garnered 320 GRPs this week (last week 309).

With two daily soaps at the top of the chart, the second most watched Hindi GEC Colorshas emerged has the biggest gainer this week. The channel has recorded 271 GRPs in the 29th week of TAM 2011 (last week 252).

The No.3 Hindi GEC Zee TVhas been losing its hold on the viewers in 3rd consecutive week on TAM people meters. The channel has recorded 185 GRPs this week (last week 193).

Sony Entertainment Televisionhas maintained the status quo over the last week’s GRPs. The channel has garnered 182 GRPs (last week 184).

SABTVtoohas retained its viewers and recorded 133 GRPs (last week 131).

After enjoying the GRPs over 100 for last two weeks backed by Swayamvar Season 3, Imagine TV has seen a sharp dip this week by losing 39 GRPs. The channel has recorded 65 GRPs in week 29 (last week 104).

Star Oneas garnered 37 GRPs (last week 36) andSahara Onehas recorded 31 GRPs (last week 30).
