Satyamev to get a videshi version?

27 July 2012

Aamir Khan rocked his countrymen out of their stupor by showcasing various social evils on Satyamev Jayate. We hear that BBC is going to come up with a similar format. Tim Sebastian, who anchors BBC’s Hard Talk programme, will be hosting this one too. He will tackle social and political problems in India. Tim told a daily that his show, titled Outsider, won’t be like Satyamev Jayate. Tim’s will be a debate-based show with him as moderator.

Nandish turns photographer Very few people are aware of the fact that Nandish Sandhu who played the character of Veer in the popular TV series Uttaran is not just a good actor but also a talented photographer. Nandish indulged in his passion recently when he made his way to Kanha National Park along with his friend, Aditya Redij, better known as Raghav from Na Aana Is Dess Laado.

Nandish always wanted to explore wildlife photography but never got the chance. After Uttaran, he made a promise to himself that he’d do all those things that he kept himself away from due to work commitments.

Rejuvenated from the trip he says, “I love clicking pictures. If there’s one thing that fascinates me immensely after acting, it’s photography. I have a Cannon 7D camera, which has mind-boggling features that make my hobby more exciting. Luckily, Aditya shares my passion so we both went on a trip to Kanha.

Is the Media in trouble? Mumbai Press Club holds discussion on subject

Uday Shankar, Star India CEO said, “Just because the media has become capital-intensive, doesn’t mean that it has to compromise on your integrity. Every business has to have a value system, and the editor needs to be sensitive to that. Journalists need to wake up to the economic reality, and it can’t be denied. On the other hand, those who recognise that are willing to swing to the other extreme and do anything. That also is neither healthy nor sustainable.”
