Star Gold becomes top paid movie channel in UK

Star TV UK has been celebrating after delivering record numbers for its Bollywood movie channel recently.

On the back of huge TV premieres of 'Bodyguard' and 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara', Star Gold became the UK's top paid movie channel beating the fleet of nine movies channels from Sky.

According to official data released by BARB, Star Gold's blockbuster ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ that premiered on Saturday 30th October 2011 (20:00) made Star Gold UK beat off competition from all other movie channel rivals. The blockbuster ‘Bodyguard’ starring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor that premiered on Saturday 12th November 2011 (20:00) raked in huge viewership despite a major technical failure at BT Tower that took the channel off-air for over 35 minutes.
