Mumbai, January 2015: After a successful line-up of blockbuster movies showcased in 2014, Star Gold, the Home of Blockbuster Bollywood Premieres is all set for yet another successful airing. Star Gold commences the New Year with the premiere of 2 States; a heartfelt, romantic saga starring superstar-duo Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.  One of the highly appreciated romantic stories in 2014, 2 States will air on Sunday, 18th January at 12 noon.

Known to showcase an eclectic mix of genres, Star Gold has earlier premiered mega blockbusters starring superstars Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Saif Ali Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and many more. The premiere of 2 States marks the debut of gen-next stars Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor on the channel. Star Gold has successfully premiered the best of entertainers in the past such as KICK, Singham Returns, Bodyguard, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Humshakals, Son of Sardar, Yaariyan, Bullett Raja, Hawaa Hawaai,  to name a few. 2-States is a romantic tale of two lovers from diverse cultures who wish to marry, only after their families’ consent. While Krish hails from a proud and loud Punjabi family, Ananya belongs to a South Indian, conservative heritage. While madly and deeply in love, the couple mutually decide to marry only after attaining approval from both families. The movie revolves around the theme of cross-culture confusion and the feeble, yet determined attempts by the couple to get married. Directed by Abhishek Verman, 2 States is a movie adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s bestseller, starring Arjun Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Ronit Roy and Amrita Singh.
