Broadcasting major Star India will soon launch an action movie channel and two regional channels by December.

"Star India will launch a dedicated action channel and two regional channels by the end of this year. Regional channels ...That's where the next phase of growth will come from," Star India Executive Vice President and General Counsel Legal Deepak Jacob said.

Currently, UTV has a dedicated action movie channel -- UTV Action -- but it telecasts action films dubbed in Hindi.

One of India's biggest broadcasting groups, Star India, provides 35 channels in seven languages in India catering to nearly 400 million people every week through its network.

Star India's portfolio includes general entertainment channels like Star Plus, Star One and Star World, movie channels like Star Gold and Star Movies, music channel Channel [V] and regional channels such as Star Jalsha and Star Pravah. It also has joint venture channels Asianet, Asianet Plus, Star Vijay, Suvarna, ESPN and Star Sports. Recently, broadcasting major Star India had launched high definition version of its channels in the country and unveiled its new corporate logo 'Hot Star'.
