Star Movies Select HD has been staying true to its promise of impeccable curation by showcasing the best, sometimes even never seen before movies with just one simple intention – delighting our discerning audience every single time. We set standards of storytelling so high that, it has inspired a lot of others to try and re-invent the art of movie showcasing business.

Our strength and commitment to curation has already resulted in bringing premieres that were never released in India, festivals that celebrated movies that brought pages to life with Book Adaptations. This time, our offering needs no introduction as the name says it all – ‘Films To See Before You Die’.
We vow to change the way you live your weekdays. Starting November 7, Monday to Friday at 9 PM; Star Movies Select HD will showcase stories that have redefined the way we understand cinema. The impact and craft of these movies are so iconic that some of them have gone on to change the very fabric of our world and how we look at it.

The charismatic line up of the festival includes some of the biggest Academy Award winning titles like - Goodfellas, 2001:A Space Odyssey, Chariots of Fire,  Full Metal Jacket, Casablanca, As Good As it Gets, Star Wars IV: A New Hope to name a few.

Is the Media in trouble? Mumbai Press Club holds discussion on subject

Uday Shankar, Star India CEO said, “Just because the media has become capital-intensive, doesn’t mean that it has to compromise on your integrity. Every business has to have a value system, and the editor needs to be sensitive to that. Journalists need to wake up to the economic reality, and it can’t be denied. On the other hand, those who recognise that are willing to swing to the other extreme and do anything. That also is neither healthy nor sustainable.”

Channel V plans more events

Prem Kamath, channel head, Channel V, adds, "Participation has gone up by almost 100 per cent. We have had 500-600 participants earlier, this year we had about 1000 participants in each zonal."

Star India inks distribution deal with Etisalat to offer 17 channels in UAE

Star Group country head Middle East, Africa & Pakistan Sumantra (Sumo) Dutta said, “This is a landmark initiative in our quest to reach out and make the top watched and favourite Star channels available to the widest set of viewers.”
