Star Plus only gainer; Sony firm at No.2; Zee TV loses more eyeballs

Hindi GECs hold their ground in the week 35 of TAM 2011 when Anna movement directed the viewers to the news channels.

As the TAM viewership data for the week 35 is out, it does not bring any surprise. Despite the fact the Anna movement had forced viewers to stick to the news channels resulting in the increase of their viewership, the General Entertainment Channels seem unaffected in a big way. Almost all the channels have been able to hold the eyeballs except Zee TV which has lost 14 GRPs. While Star Plus remains the only gainers in the week 35, Sony Entertainment Channel continues to be the No.2 channel. The dream run of KBC continued in the second week; however, the average TVR has slipped down to 4.3 making it the third most watched program of the week. Sony’s Bade Achche Lagte Hain has jumped up one position to become 4th most watched program of the week.

The top 5 programs for the week 35 (21-27 August) are Sathiya (5.2 TVR), Balika Vadhu (4.7 TVR), KBC (4.3 TVR), Bade Achche Lagte Hain (3.9 TVR) and Pavitra Rishta (3.9 TVR).
