Star World adds drama, comedy and mystery to weekends this July!

 Home to the best of English Entertainment in India, Star World and Star World HD is all set to bring fans laugh out loud comedy, high-octane drama and nail-biting mystery shows all through July on ‘Star World Weekend Binge’.

Spend two successive weekends laughing your heart out with Modern Family Season 7 and The Simpsons Season 27. The multi Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy Award winning series, ‘Modern Family’ is centered on the lives of patriarch Jay Pritchett and his large, dysfunctional family and will air on 2nd & 3rd July 2016. This will be followed by a rollicking season of the longest-running comedy TV series ever ‘The Simpsons’ on 9th & 10th July 2016. The new season promises to bring back the signature blend of insightful humor and inept family dynamics with its humorous parodies of American culture and society.
Catch the television premiere of much-awaited drama series, ‘The Family’ Season 1 starring the Golden Globe, Tony and Emmy award winning actress Joan Allen on 16th & 17th July 2016. The show follows the lives of the Warren family when their abducted son comes back after almost a decade. Joan Allen plays the mother who fuels her political career with her son’s disappearance.
The month ends on a high note with two consecutive weekends of the crime procedural drama series ‘Rosewood’ on 23rd & 24th July and 30th & 31st July 2016. Set in Miami, the show features private pathologist Dr. Beaumont Rosewood Jr. who solves the most complex crimes along with honest Police Detective, Annalise Villa.

Is the Media in trouble? Mumbai Press Club holds discussion on subject

Uday Shankar, Star India CEO said, “Just because the media has become capital-intensive, doesn’t mean that it has to compromise on your integrity. Every business has to have a value system, and the editor needs to be sensitive to that. Journalists need to wake up to the economic reality, and it can’t be denied. On the other hand, those who recognise that are willing to swing to the other extreme and do anything. That also is neither healthy nor sustainable.”

Channel V plans more events

Prem Kamath, channel head, Channel V, adds, "Participation has gone up by almost 100 per cent. We have had 500-600 participants earlier, this year we had about 1000 participants in each zonal."
