This Christmas, Your Holiday Memories Will Freeze in Time with Star Movies As They Premiere FROZEN On 25th DEC 1pm And 9pm

22 December 2014

Mumbai, December 22, 2014: After eleven months of hard work and toil every year, it’s the one day that’s dedicated to that one aspect of our lives that makes it worth every ounce of hardship – our loved ones. Christmas is around the corner and it’s time to snuggle in with your family and cherish every moment we spent together.

The Star Movies family wants to reach out to its extended family – its viewers – and give them one more reason to stay home and share the joy of the season with their Christmas special premiere of Frozen on 25th December at 1pm and 9pm.

Widely acknowledged as Disney’s best animated feature film, this movie narrates the story of a fearless princess who sets off on an epic journey alongside a brave young man, his loyal pet reindeer and a cuddly snowman to find her estranged sister, whose icy powers have accidentally trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter!

The 2013 blockbuster release is the highest grossing animated and musical film of all time, grossing $1.2 billion worldwide and is a phenomenon across the globe with children and adults alike falling in love with the characters and the music in the film. With screenplay written by Jennifer Lee and both Chris Buck and Lee serving as directors, this story is inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale ‘The Snow Queen’. It won two Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song. The Oscar-winning song ‘Let it Go’ from the film has inspired scores of cover videos.

Christmas is incomplete without gifts! Star Movies wants to share the joy with its viewers and followers with a Christmas tree that’s decked with a lot of gifts. But the only problem is that Elsa has accidently frozen over all the gifts on the Star Movies Christmas tree. This means, it’s time for the fans and followers of Star Movies to unfreeze their gifts to claim them as their own.

This is especially for the viewers on the Star Movies Facebook and Twitter pages, where they can pick a gift from the Star Movies Christmas Tree and in order to claim it, they will have to tweet to @StarMoviesIndia with #frozenonstarmovies and tag the gift they want. The person with the most tweets for a particular gift will unfreeze it and take it home.

So get into the holiday mood with Star Movies and let the spirit of Christmas wash you over with joy and happiness as you spend quality time with your family and Frozen on Star Movies at 1pm and 9pm on December 25.

Star Plus' rejigged programming pays off

Gaurav Bannerjee, Head, Star Plus explains, “While it is true that the increase in ratings is a result of extendng the weekday strategy to Saturday, I also believe it is because of the stickiness of our content. Our weekday prime time has 11 shows out of which almost 5 to 6 are in the top ten every week. So our content, which we have worked very hard to suit the contemporary Indian woman across geographies, has found a hook with our audience."

The tussle over live cricket scores

Ajit Mohan, Head, New Media, Star India said, “Digital should be an incremental leap in the way people consume sports. But if you look at the current crop of digital sports service companies, it has been a huge regressive step backwards, because essentially you’re trying to describe a match through text commentary."

Saif Ali Khan’s 'Bullett Raja' set for World TV Premiere on Star Gold

Hemal Jhaveri, Channel Head, Star Gold said, “We have always focused on showcasing a mix of all genres to our viewers with entertaining content; and have always received a phenomenal response for our premieres from the viewers. Besides a great star cast, Bullett Raja isone of the few critically acclaimed commercial entertainers of 2013.
