10 July 2014

With internet and digital technology bringing in radical changes, Star India CEO Uday Shankar will deliver a public lecture at the Australia India Institute on 12 August on the challenges and opportunities for media in this rapidly changing environment.

The public oration and the Q&A will be chaired by one of Australia’s most iconic media persons Geraldine Doogue, who currently presents ‘Saturday Extra’ on ABC Radio National. The topic of the discussion will be ‘Global Media in the 21st Century: Challenges and Opportunities’.

A formidable thought leader, Shankar has transformed Star India into one of the country’s most successful companies with a social conscience.

Earlier, Shankar became the first Indian CEO from the media and entertainment (M&E) industry to speak at the Paley Center for Media in the US. He had addressed a breakfast session which was moderated by Time International editor Bobby Ghosh at Paley Dialogue in New York.
