Does motherhood puts a stop to one’s career dreams and aspiration? Introducing ‘Tomader Rani’ who’s all set to find out the answer

Star Jalsha is launching its new show ‘Tomader Rani’ - an insightful and compelling new narrative that questions the age-old idea that becoming a good mother and a good wife needs a lot of sacrifice from the woman– sacrifice of her careers, dreams, and aspirations. There are many women across Bengal, who had no choice other than sacrificing their dreams, in order to keep balance in their family.

But here comes ‘Tomader Rani’, who refuses to choose between her dreams, love, career or family. She starts her journey on Friday, 8th of September with a heart full of hope and zeal to become a good mother, a good wife and a successful doctor. The show promises to captivate audiences of Bengal with its powerful relatable storyline that sheds light on the struggles faced by women while balancing their dreams, family and responsibilities. 

The show revolves around the journey of Rani Debroy, portrayed brilliantly by actress Abhika Malakar, who is a beacon of optimism, cheerfulness, and determination. Despite the unexpected twists life throws at her, Rani stands resolute in her pursuit of becoming a doctor. ‘Toamder Rani’ delves Into Rani’s life, where an unplanned pregnancy with Durjoy Sengupta, who is a doctor by profession happened. Despite Durjoy’s stubborn and aggressive attitude, his unwavering love for Rani is evident. However, he stands firm against her pursuing the medical entrance exam to achieve her lifelong dream of becoming a doctor, urging her to prioritize motherhood instead. Their journey eloquently captures the intricate process of managing personal ambitions alongside familial duties. The role of Durjoy is portrayed by talented actor Arkoprobho Roy. 

The show is being produced by ‘Tent Cinema’ led by Susanta Das, Through “Tomader Rani,” the team hopes to inspire viewers to challenge accepted beliefs and embrace the possibility of pursuing their goals while fostering relationships and familial bonds while never compromising with their dreams.
